A lot changes in 11 years....

We have enjoyed spending the weekend with our good friends the Carter's.  Tamra and I went to Augustana and completed our nursing degrees together.  Since then, we have both got married, moved several times and had children.  Our friendship has remained strong through the years.  Tamra and her family now live in Broomfield CO.   The kids have been having a great time wrestling, playing outside and even making lefse!

Happy St Patrick's Day

The kids have enjoyed learning about Leprechauns today.  I must say I knew nothing about them nor do I care to- but sometimes it amazes me how I can go through my whole life having known nothing about these made up  little creatures.  I guess there is a little truth to the saying "everything you need to know you learned in Kindergarten"  Apparently, I was not in class the day we learned about Leprechauns.  :)

Did you know ( according to Jillian and Madelyn)
Leprechauns are tiny
Leprechauns live on rainbows
Lephrechauns are tricky and sneaky
Leprechauns have red beards
Leprechauns can escape from very small spaces
Leprechauns do not leave gold for people that are not wearing green
Leprechauns are very rarely seen

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!!

Nap time

Abby and Miracle
Well I am guessing the grandparents are a bit disappointed right now- they enjoy new pictures of the grandkids not necessarily the grandpets.  But, I could not resist this shot this afternoon as the sun was shining in and they were napping away under my feet while I worked on paperwork at the table.  You can't beat the companionship of a loyal pet!

I am not one to dissapoint so I also got a shot of my little Owen taking a nap as well.  Its getting to be time to take that pacifier away so I have been meaning to get a picture of him with his pacifier in.  Madelyn was a thumb sucker for the first 3 and 1/2 years of her life and then one day she just quit- we were of course relieved the transistion was so smooth but I was also sad that I didnt have any pictures of how she looked when she grabbed her blanket and stuck that thumb in her mouth before each nap- Time sure flys!

Happy 2nd Birthday Owen!

"O", "O man" "Son" "Handsome" and "buddy" as he is called around here turned 2 today.  He has gone from a baby to a big boy in what seems like overnight.  Everytime he flashes that smile at me, my heart skips a beat :)  I never realized the bond a mother and a son had until the day he was born 2 years ago.  He was placed in my arms and I will be forever grateful!  We love you Owen.

"Here we go Yankton, here we go!"

This is the chant I hear coming from the living room quite often lately.  Owen loves to play basketball and Madelyn loves to cheer for him.  She even puts on her cheerleading attire.  This is one of those things I love to capture.  You can find Owen and Madelyn doing this 2-3 different times throughout the day lately.  But I also know, that a few weeks from the now this will only be a memory and they will be on to the next thing.
